Texas Chapter of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) meeting August 2018
Great meeting in Houston with endocrinology colleagues from all over Texas. Multiple lectures and research presented focusing on “less is more” when it comes to treating thyroid cancer. Dr. Brady and Dr. Sabra are using the latest recommendations for only partial thyroid removal (hemi-thyroidectomy) for majority of thyroid cancers to preserve thyroid function. In addition to saving part of the thyroid gland, Austin Thyroid Surgeons can minimize anesthesia times for patients and allow them to be done in the outpatient setting without costly overnight hospital stays.
