World Congress on Thyroid Cancer 2017 Boston, MA, USA
Dr. Sabra and Dr. Brady attended the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer 2017 (#WCTC2017) in Boston, Massachusetts along with over 1,000 other attendees from over 80 countries! This important summit meeting brought together many world leaders in thyroid cancer who presented the latest in research updates. These included:
- Genetic testing of thyroid nodules and its importance in reducing unnecessary surgeries
- New classification of a diagnosis that was formerly a thyroid cancer (NIFTP: Non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like features)
- Advances in superior and recurrent laryngeal nerve mapping and monitoring
- Importance of a strong collaboration between endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, pathologists, and radiologists in the care of our patients
- Continuing exchange of important advances and fostering relationships with our international colleagues such as with members of the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (and what a great opportunity it was to catch up with some of our mentors from France and Germany!)
